XR500 Geo-Filtering not working for COD
Just recently I noticed my games have been crazy lagging. I only play COD on my PC. I live about 50 miles (give or take) from the Chicago server. The server is trash so I pick a server in northern...

The app is based on DumaOS 4 so there may be some discrepancies between the app and the version you're on which is why you're seeing that.
Try this:
Quit the application/game/client completely
Remove device from the Geo-Filter
Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager
Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu
Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter with the manual option
Set up the Geo-Filter how you like
Wait 2 minutes
Boot up application/game/client
It should be more consistent after that.

I did all the steps, reset the router (like I have to do every time I play COD), and the first two games worked a LOT better since the Geo-Filter worked. I looked on the app and still the circle of death for the server location but no biggie. I could see I was connected to the Georgia server. It also stated the game was detected under prioritize gaming. I then logged into the website and the Georgia server was pinged.
Then it all went to crap. game 3 - 5 gaming wasn't detected on the app, and website wasn't pinging a server even though I was in a game. Did all the steps again, waited about 5 minutes, and started the game. I played two games, and the same thing as mentioned above. Did all the steps again, waited about 5 minutes, reset the router, played two more games, and the same thing.
I looked at the event log and nothing since the 24th.

I'm heading to bed but I will try resetting the modem and router when I wake up to see if there is any difference.
If you have any other suggestions or need anything else, please let me know.
- Netduma-FraserJul 27, 2024NetDuma PartnerDid you change any settings or anything after those 2 games?
- Mike40Jul 27, 2024Luminary
Nothing changed at all, it just stopped working. It seems like it works for a couple of games all the time then goes back to crap. I unplugged the CM1200 modem and the XR500 router. I waited about 2 minutes then plugged the modem back in and waited for the green lights. I then plugged the router back in. Once all the lights came back on I plugged the ethernet for my PC in. First game worked really well for the first about 4 minutes then went to crap for about 3 minutes then worked fine again. Game 2 - 4 worked pretty well except for the occasional hit markers and no kills. I then looked at the app, game was detected but nothing came up on the Geo-Filter at all. I figured it was because you said something about the app might not work which is fine no biggie. I then pulled up the website on my PC while I was still in the game and it was pinging the Georgia server so everything looked fine. I closed Chrome then finished the match. The next 4 matches worked well for maybe 2 - 3 minutes out of about the 10 minutes it usually takes a match. The next 2 matches after that looked like I was on dial up because my old friend invisible bullets started happening so I rage quit about half way through match 2. I waited about 5 minutes then reset the routers. I didn't change any settings or do anything other than reset it. Same invisible bullets happened again so I rage quit about 3 minutes into it.
- Netduma-FraserJul 27, 2024NetDuma PartnerThat's a different issue if the Geo-Filter is working that entire time and you're seeing servers, the Geo-Filter doesn't control the ping to a server, just the server you connect to. Can you provide a screenshot of your QoS page please? What's the average ping you're seeing with those issues?

When I play next I will hook up my PC to another TV so that I can look at the website when I'm playing. Having to alt+tab back and forth is a pain in the butt since I play with a controller instead of a keyboard and mouse. I only looked after game two and didn't look again so I don't know if anything changed that I can't see since the app doesn't work.
I have always had issues with QOS. I have played most of the time with it disabled since it doesn't seem to make a difference in my gameplay. I believe you helped me with it around Christmas last year.
I tried doing 1%/1% and increasing 5% all the way up to 100%. I have used all three settings and have turned it completely off.
Here is what it has been at for like 2 months or something. I don't even mess with this page. - Mike40Jul 28, 2024Luminary
I thought I had a DP to HDMI cable but I don't so no way for me to hook it up to another TV. Sorry about that.
I had a Windows Update so I had to reset my PC. Now everything went back to crap again. The game is back to unplayable. Server isn't showing up in Geo-Filter on the website or in the app but the app is saying that gaming is detected.
The criticals are back now in the event long as of 3 hours ago. I did the Windows Update roughly 6 hours ago.
I was playing another game on my PC earlier and was watching some YouTube videos and everything worked fine.
Here are the recent event logs since I unplugged it yesterday.Sat Jul 27 22:07:49 2024 Critical (3) Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging - No Response received - T3 time-out;CM-MAC=6c:cd:d6:6d:31:d4;CMTS-MAC=00:90:f0:7c:01:00;CM-QOS=1.1;CM-VER=3.1; Sat Jul 27 13:40:09 2024 Notice (6) CM-STATUS message sent. It's likely the IP has changed since you reset it.
QoS looks fine, what ping are you seeing on the Geo-Filter/in game when you're getting those issues? - Mike40Jul 28, 2024Luminary
IP is the same since I gave it a dedicated IP address.
I don't know what ping is in the Geo-Filter since I play on a TV and don't have a DP to HDMI cord to use my other TV as a second screen. When I had an issue last year when I was on PS5 I could use two TV. Once for my PC and one for the PS5. When I was doing that, the dedicated servers never had a ping on the website. It gave some other info but not the ping. I apologize I don't remember as I'm old and that was probably about a year ago.
The ping in game used to be in the midish teens but now it's anywhere from 30 - 60. I'm guessing that is because I'm connecting to a dedicated server that is about 700 miles from me instead of the dedicated server 50 miles from me.
