XR500 Problem - Enabling QOS limits Max Download Speed

Hello, 

This is either a user error(me) or a problem with the router firmware. When I enable QoS, my maximum dowloads through the Steam client drop from 45MB down to 25MB. I'm on Firmware Version : 2.2.1.10.

 

Things I've tried to rectifiy the problem

- Adjust connection max bandwidth above what i normally get (350mbps)

- Turn Anti-buffer bloat to Never

- Bandwith allocation to my computer 100 percent.

- Toggle Share excess

 

Right now, I have QoS turned off. However, this defeats the purpose of this router. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Hi Alex, this is how the QoS works. It limits the bandwidth that greedy devices/applications take so that you do not experience any local congestion. I'd recommend clicking the ? icon on Anti-Bufferbloat to get to grips with how that works exactly.

      Hmm.. today it looks like the QoS is on and I'm getting max download speeds. Maybe something changed when I refreshed my modem the other day. Appears to be working for now, but will report back if I find an issue.
