XR500 drops internet
I am having an issue where the internet stops working..... I have 2 Xbox ones being used and they randomly disconnect and now the wifi doesn't work either. The wifi is connected but no internet. On...

The more I think about it, it might be the modem as you stated. The reason I purchased the XR500 a month ago was because I thought my Asus router was going bad. It too was dropping the internet, but multiple times a day. Maybe that router wasn't bad after all. Maybe its my modem. I also saved the log file from the XR500. I'll go through it for DHCP errors as well before I make the call to Optimum. I'll keep you posted.

Xenos8 - there's a new trial firmware from NETGEAR that might fix your problem (assuming the issue if on your XR500). I'll PM the link to you now so you can try it out. Let us know in this thread if it works!

- Xenos8Apr 27, 2019ApprenticeThanks for the info but I want to try replacing the modem first. One change at a time to see what the problem is. I went to Optimum Store this morning and they gave me a new modem. They claim that my modem was a mismatch for my speed and that is why I could be having and issue. I pay for 200MB and they said modem was for 300-400MB. I find it hard to believe that this is the issue because this just started a month ago. But who knows. They could be changing infrastructure and it just caught up to me. I will let you know how I make out.
