By your name I would imagine lol I absolutely love the xr500 I have no problem with it I just didn't know if Wi-Fi 6 or 6E would be a good thing for me to invest in now while I had the extra money which is why I asked about upgrading the router also have Dumas 3.0 firmware on my xr500 never had any issue with it I just want to replace my modem combo that I have and if I'm going to spend $250 on a new modem the CM 2000 I just thought that I would ask input on what my best options would be I don't mind spending the extra on a new router too or the router if it's going to upgrade my gaming experience that's all

Netduma-Fraser has the correct advice on the router. If you don't have much for wifi 6 devices, I'd hold off on the router portion as you already have a pretty great router.
A modem upgrade is a solid choice as then you won't have to rent from xfinity.
The only thing I'd advise is that if there's a line issue that is causing your current issues, a new modem might not help a whole lot. But it does give you access to the modem event logs and cable connections page so you can get an idea if its line related. Might be worth figuring out what the current issues are while you're renting the modem/router from xfinity. Then they can't blame the 3rd party equipement like they like to do.
