XR50AC1900 and a XR500 gaming router0 - PS4 Connection better with ISPs modem/router then XR500
Hi,
Please be patient as I am not too savvy with this technical stuf!!!
I would like to know how to connect my XR500 gaming router to my AC1900 modem/router so they are both under the same name/password etc.. At the moment they are both under different network names and passwords. I would like to use the gaming router as a network extender to increase the network signal around my large house? Not sure if it would be called bridging or a repeater?
Any help will be gratefully received.

Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem.

Thanks for the reply. Would the IP address from the NG router be the Gateway IP address?

no. It will be the IP address the gateway gives the NG router.

Sorry for the delay in the reply.
I can't see anything in the settings to allow me to enter the DMZ settings?
My set up: Netgear AC1900 modem/router (wired), Netgear XR500 gaming router (wireless).

Check page 189 for DMZ usage on the D7000 modem:
