XR700 dhcp keeps crashing
The DHCP server on our XR700 keeps on stopping; it works again after powercycling but can stop any time between an hour and 24 hours later. I see that a number of others have had a similar problem but I can't find the solution. Have tried a factory reset but there is no change. Can anyone help please?

Re: XR700 dhcp keeps crashing
A couple things.
1. This is the general nighthawk forum. You'd want to pro-gaming forum for that device. It runs dumaOS and that's where the experts on it would be. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-Routers/bd-p/en-home-nighthawk-pro-gaming-rout...
2. what firmware version are you on?
3. what modem/gateway are you connected to?

Re: XR700 dhcp keeps crashing
Your modem already has a router and wifi built in. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the NightHawk Gaming Router products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with NH gaming router products and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:

Please use this link to the main forum product list to review and choose where to make your posts.

Re: XR700 dhcp keeps crashing
Could you guys please try reserving IP addresses for the devices that are disconnecting? Then see if they continue to disconnect after this.

Re: XR700 dhcp keeps crashing
Thanks for all the advice
The reserving of ip addresses did not seem to work. What did seem to work is
- moving the netgear router farther from the WAP from AT&T
- restarting the extender (I had restarted the router but not the extender.
Not sure which of the 2 items helped as I did both around the same time.

Re: XR700 dhcp keeps crashing
Disable the wifi radios on the ATT router. IF these are running then this would be causing noise and interferences with the XR wifi. Recommended to use the wifi on the XR router and disable the ATT modems wifi. Try option #2 as suggested.
