Xr1000 V2 having DNS issues and unable to connect to websites

I just bought this router and i am having some series issues. I have updated to the latest firmware and did all the suggested things. Is anyone else having these issues and has anyone fixed it?  I have a open ticket with NG. Thanks.

Try a different DNS Server. Here's a few. Also remember to change the ipv6 dns server if ipv6 is enabled.
CloudFlare
IPv4: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
IPv6: 2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1111 and 2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1001
GoogleDNS
IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
IPv6: 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8888 and 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8844

I currently have it on Googles DNS. Still same issue. I contacted my ISP and they are sending me out a new modem. I do not have v6 enabled. And i did not change the pool to 100 - 200 this time around. My Firmware is 1.1.0.22_2_1_34 .   It does say there is a firmware update on top but i am assuming to ignore that?   The update it wants to give me is 1.1.0.16_2.1.25 .

what modem do you have? 

does it work if a pc/laptop is directly connected to the modem?

It shouldn't be asking you to update if you're actually on the latest. I'm wondering if maybe you have those backwards?

The Modem is one i get from my ISP. Not sure the brand?  the firmware i updated to the one i have now because of whats in the forum and said to update to that one.  the firmware it is asking me to update. When i updated it when i first got the router it kept asking me to update it everytime i flashed it so it seems like a glitch?  Not sure.

You should be able to look at the modem and get a model number off it. 

And do devices work connected directly to the modem?

The Model number i got is this  eu2251.

When i directly plug my computer into the modem i get a picture like a earth globe Icon on my tab of Edge, as if its hiting a brick wall then it connects to whatever website i was going to without giving me a error. It may take a second to download the whole page though. So there is a difference. Thanks.

Have you tried a simple factory reset on the router and reinstall?

Yes i pushed the button in the back for 60 seconds and factory reset.

with the router connected to the modem, are you able to ping and then log into the modem through the router?

with a pc connected to the router, open a command prompts on windows and type ping 192.168.100.1

you can also access it through the browser at that address.

Reboot the modem, wait 2 minutes, reboot the XR, wait 4 minutes then check, do you get internet? If not check the System Information page, does it show you have a WAN IP?

This is what i got back.  

Pinging 192.168.100.1 with 32 bytes of data

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Also i was unable to access it through the browser. Is that the correct IP address for it?  Thanks

When rebooting the Modem.  I just unplug it for 2 minutes. Do i plug it back in, then unplug the XR for 4 minutes?  Then check the WAN?  Thanks.

Yes plug it back in, then wait 2 minutes, then you can unplug the XR in the same manner if you wish or use the button that turns it off/on and just do that then wait 4 minutes. Basically the waiting part is after you've turned it back on then check

Ok did it and same results. Internet even seems a bit worse.

How is it worse exactly if you can't connect to any websites?

it can connect to websites. It can take a long time. And a lot of the time it times out.

Is it this specific PC you're having the issue with or are other devices having the issues as well?

Yes having issue with a Laptop.  It is running through wifi, and is running windows 11.    My Pc is ethernet cord and is running windows 10.

Have you changed any network settings on the devices themselves or are they using automatic settings?

Could you disable the Adblocker on the router and see if it works then please?

adblocker is and has been disabled.
