C7000v2 Nighthawk app says Router not supported

My Nighthawk goes from saying that "Firmware Out of Date" to saying "Router is Not Supported" 

Regardless - How do I update the Firmware so that the app will work on my phone?  

If I have the most recent Firmware then my speeds should go up, yes?

You don't.

combo devices (integrated modem) can only be updated by the isp. Not by individuals. 

Its the problem with combo devices and modems. The isp controls the firmware.
