Firmware RAX15
I received an email that my firmware needs to be updated due to new security. The Nighthawk app does not look like the instructions. The router/modem admin screens do not look like tbe instructiins. I called for help and was told that my ISP is responsible for firmware updates. I called ISP and said Netgear rep is wrong since it is my device and it has to be updated by me. I got the runaround and the person seemed to know what i am talking about. I am an insurance person and do not know tech stuff but this should be pretty simple. I plan on returning the router to Amazon and replacing it with one from another manufacturer because i am concerned about the security of my network.

Is that accurate? Look for "Model" on the product label.

That would be true for a DOCSIS cable modem+router, not for an
RAX120.

How, exactly, would you expect that to change anything regarding
firmware updates?
