Nighthawk RAX50 Only Solid Power LED
I recently tried to update the firmware from the Nighthawk app on my moble phone over Wifi and now only the Power LED is lit white and solid. Tried the factory reset for 7-15 second with no luck. Also tried the 30, 30 method with no luck. I even attempted the TFTP Client firmware load but that will not work (no blinking orange ever appears).
Sadly my router 1 year warranty expired last month so I would need to now pay for tech support.
It seems updating firmware over wifi is a known issue, no clue why they offer that option via the nighthawk app.
Any other ideas?

Re: Nighthawk RAX50 Only Solid Power LED
I usually don't recommend updating via the app. Not sure why netgear still does the the forum members rarely do.
Tftp can be a bit finicky. Sometimes takes a few attempts to get it working.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through using a tftp client. Use the built in one for windows 10 though. the video is more of an example of how its done.

and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Re: Nighthawk RAX50 Only Solid Power LED
Hi plemans,
Thanks for the reply. I did try the windows TFTP but I get a "Connect request failed" message. Also this procedures states the same as the Tftpd64 where the link on the router is blinking or solid and amber. Mine is a solid white only, with nothing else. Not sure how much that matters.

Re: Nighthawk RAX50 Only Solid Power LED
Going to try that now, but wanted to reply since you took the time to help and I wanted to you to know I am working the process. The nmrpflash looks a little more involved so that will take me some time to read and figure out.
Thanks!

Re: Nighthawk RAX50 Only Solid Power LED
Hi plemans,
Unfortunately nmrpflash did not work either. Once i get the Waiting for physical connection and turn the router on after a short time i get Error: Ethernet cable is unplugged. I did confirm i was using the correct eth using the nmrpflash -L command.

Re: Nighthawk RAX50 Only Solid Power LED
Hi thehypnootoad,
This video looks the same as my first step plemans had me try and that did not work. The bulk of the fixes i saw using the TFTP mention flashing lights, which mine does not have. I only have 1 solid white light for power.
