RAX48 wifi channel changed

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/RAX48-wifi-channel-changed/m-p/2156255

I set the 5GHz channel to 36.  After a month, I scan nearby wifi and found out my wifi is on channel 149.

I logged in to my router and it is still showing 5GHz on channel 36.

Can you explain what's happened?  149 is a congested channel in my area.

Re: RAX48 wifi channel changed

What are you using for wifi scanning?

Got a screen snip?

What do the actual devices connected to it show when you pull up their wifi specifics?

Re: RAX48 wifi channel changed

I am using macbook wireless diagnostics to scan wifi.

The wifi channel shows channel 149 when macbook connects to the 5GHz wifi.

Re: RAX48 wifi channel changed

What Firmware version is currently loaded?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

Re: RAX48 wifi channel changed

1.0.3.96
Factory reset done.
I prefer not to factory reset in the future because that will erase my parental control user profiles.

Re: RAX48 wifi channel changed

Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Re: RAX48 wifi channel changed

Setting saved but not the parental control profiles.  I have to reassign device to profile.
