RAX75 with CenturyLink 1GBPS Fiber
Centurylink just installed the 940 MBPS fiber with the Actiontec C3000A router last weekend. I was seeing speeds in the realm of 200 MBPS down / 300 up on wireless. Wired was roughly twice those speeds. After talking with some peers, and stalking the Centurylink subreddit I bought the RAX75 at Costco. Netgear's phone support walked me through setting up the PPPoE and VLAN to be able to remove the Actiontec and connect the Netgear directly to the ONT.
It worked (kinda).
The speeds have actually diminished down to 150 down on wireless. The tech helped for over an hour, but appeared to finally give up and suggested I return the router. I'd be happy to exchange it for a different one, but am not certain a different router would produce any different results. Any insight?
