RAX80/EAX80 stops responding
Hardware Version | RAX80 |
Firmware Version | V1.0.3.102_1.0.48 |
GUI Language Version | V1.0.3.102_2.1.46.1 |
CPU Load | CPU1: 2.88% CPU2: 1.70% CPU3: 1.76% CPU4: 1.76% |
Memory Usage (Used/Total) | 420MB/882MB |
Flash Usage (Used/Total) | 52.00MB/512.00MB |
Network Session (Active/Total) | 3917/65535 |
System Uptime | 0 days 13:25:23 |
About once every 36 - 48 hours my router will stop responding and will lock up so that you cannot get to the web interface. I have to power cycle the device to get it to come back. When this happens, I can look at the logs and see the following.
[Time synchronized with NTP server] Monday, Sep 28,2020 02:47:06

Is anyone seeing anything similar or have any ideas as to what to try? It almost feels like a memory leak, but the memory usage as detailed above is not terrible.
Also, is there a way to setup a scheduled reboot or is there a way that I can telnet into the system via a script activated via a CRON job?

Re: RAX80/EAX80 stops responding
ndanger69,
Did this occur recently? May you revert to the previous firmware version and let us know of any changes.

Re: RAX80/EAX80 stops responding
This has been occurring for at least the last 3 - 4 firmware revisions so I doubt that rolling back is going to resolve this issue.

Re: RAX80/EAX80 stops responding
I too am running the latest firmware revision on the RAX80 (V1.0.3.102_1.0.48). I can usually expect a complete crash and restart at least once a day. There is something fundamentally wrong in the firmware that is causing this issue. I too see entries like this in the logs after the crash:

Great that it is blocking the attack, but it would appear to me there is a buffer overflow problem somewhere in the firmware and it has been there through the last several firmware updates. Netgear, it would be great if you provided some sort of tool/utility that we could help you solve this. Similiar to the crash reports that Apple/Microsoft allow you to send.

Re: RAX80/EAX80 stops responding
My eax80 freezes often (about 1-3 days).
Reboot is needed.

This has been happening to me to forever now. This router is always locking up and I constantly have to reset it.
