Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
For those that are having uncommanded shutdown of their internet please check your log and see if the disconnect(s) occur at the same time over a 24 hour period. There have been issues with ISP modems and the lease time on the NG router. Also make sure that your NTP is correct for your time zone and functional. There are further details on this subject in another thread but currently I do not have a link. Will update my post when I find the thread.

The ability to know which devices are connected to the router using which WiFi version is described in the following idea: Router’s Attached Devices List: Display WiFi and WPA Version Information. You may wish to consider "voting" for this product enhancement request, if the concept appears to be beneficial.

Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
Just a suggestion for troubleshooting wifi issues using wifi on a mac-try downloading WiFi Explorer-it will give you loads of information on all the bands (2.4 and 5GHz) and the throughput (20, 40, 80, or 160) capabilities plus much more (yes it does cost $20 but it will save you a lot of headaches and time spent on the phone with support). Even though I have my mac hard wired to the router but I occassionally run this tool to rule out suspected wifi issues. You can get the app at app store here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wifi-explorer/id494803304?mt=12

Following with great interest as I've started to get daily disconnects and suspected my Virgin Media modem was at fault

Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
Couple things you can try Her
Here are a few things you can try
1. Revert back to the previous f/w
2. Download and install latest f/w over your existing f/w then reset to factory using the pin hole on back of router.
3. I heard that if you install the original f/w then update to most current. Then factor reset(pin hole method). The disconnect issues disappear. Good luck!

Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
Hi
1. Revert back to the previous f/w
So I tried this but that seemed to increase the frequency of disconnects. Over night as per the attached screenshot the router never fixed itself
2. Download and install latest f/w over your existing f/w then reset to factory using the pin hole on back of router.
So I'm on this option at present but it too has just disconnected. I Removed then plugged in the WAN cable but that didn't fix it so had to reboot the router.

Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
1.0.2.88 Firmware does not fix the issue. Both Wifi bands completely drop and dissappear for a few minutes. Can anyone recommend another brand that works well for them? My R7000 works better than the RAX200 but I have a lot of devices so I was looking for a better router. The RAX200 is not.

Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
This is the first app I pull up whenever I have suspected issues with connectivity:
https://www.pingplotter.com/download
At first it may look rather cryptic but actually it tells you a lot and really narrows down where the problem is in terms of IP addresses-when an image of the PingPlotter is saved and provided to the ISP it provides both parties a clear picture of what is going on with your connection. Packet loss of course occurs whenever there are disconnects-this app pinpoints where the packet loss occurs first-that is where you need to focus your attention-do no be surprised if it is not your router. Give it a try and post your results here-a picture is worth a thousand words and there are a lot of people far more knowledgable than myself that can contribute a wealth of information. Hope this helps.

Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
I ended up going to back to V1.0.1.12_1.0.41. It is not perfect but V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 was bad. My router went offline overnight until I powered cycled in the morning.

I am now updated to Firmware version V1.0.2.88.0.50 it has been stable for me. Other than trying to upsell me to the Netgear Armor that I do not want,

Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
To make sure that NG Armor is disabled-connect to the router using the Nighthawk app-on the home screen tap the upper left corner with the home symbol-tap on settings-tap on security-deselect NG Armor with the slider (no longer green). Hope this helps.

Re: Rax200 firmware update V1.0.2.8_1.0.45 causes the router to go offline every few hours
I am using the nighthawk app. I was just grumbling about the pop up when you start the Nighthawk up after the upgrade. I did not activate it and i did already saw where the slider can disable it. Perhaps I am just tired of Norton, trying to jam Lifelock down on my computers with endless popups. then eventualy installing it, saying it is "free" when eventually they will increase prices to cover it.
