Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

My 5ghz guest network is using wpa3. However the ssid got stuck with the old name when I changed to a different name.

Please explain this a little more in detail.

"its stuck"

are you changing it in the app? In the browser?

How do you know its stuck? or what is telling you that?

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

I tried both in app and web. Same behavior.
Original ssid was aaa. I changed it to bbb and saved. After save the ssid is still showing aaa.

Tried a simple factory reset on it?

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

What firmware version are you on?

Are you using smart connect?

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

I’m using the latest available one. I’m talking about guest WiFi so there is no smart connect.

No issues with main wifi? Just guest?

If you downgrade the firmware a verison, is there still issues?

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

I only try guest WiFi. I’m not using wpa3 for main. I don’t want to downgrade firmware as I have workaround.

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

How can I file bug report?  I don't need a support ticket but I want netgear to be aware of the issue.

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

The router firmware mysteriously fall back to Firmware Version V1.0.2.82_2.0.50.  I am confused now.

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

I'd be confused as well. I've never seen firmware automatically downgrade.

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

Actually the router was on firmware RAX48-V1.0.2.94_2.0.58_hotfix.  But it fell back to 1.0.2.82.  I have upgraded to the latest one now.

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

Firmware Version V1.0.3.96_2.0.59

The issue is still here.  The Guest SSID does not changed after saving.

Re: Rax48 wpa3 ssid not saved

https://kb.netgear.com/000064472/RAX48-Firmware-Version-1-0-5-106

Fixes the issue where after changing the guest network SSID, the previous SSID settings display

Does that mean this issue is fixed?

You could try it. I don't have one to test it on
