Unable to setup Nighthawk RAX40 in AP mode
I have a Model/Router combo from my ISP (Bell Homehub 3000). Their wifi sucks so I bought the RAX40 to act as wireless Access point. Unfortunately, I am unable to get it to work:
1. On setup, I can access http://www.routerlogin.net/ with no issues. Completed the password and firmware update with no issues. Internet and wifi works fine at this point.
2. Because my homehub already has a router, NAT, DHCP and whatever setup, I want to change it the AX40 to AP mode to avoid double NAT.
3. I go to advance setup, enable AP mode, router restarts (which takes a while compared to my past routers lol). After restart, I am unable to go to the router login page using the hostname http://www.routerlogin.net/. I go to the model and see RAX40 with IP 192.168.2.238 assigned. Tried that but no good either. Also, internet does not work via wifi and the internet LED is orange instead of green.
4. After trying different things for half a hour, I restart the modem. Here's the weird thing, after restart, it works for around 5 seconds. I was able to login using http://www.routerlogin.net/ but after 5 seconds the internet again stops working (unable to change any settings in the router as it will time out).
What's going on? Is the router defective in some way?

Re: Unable to setup Nighthawk RAX40 in AP mode
I made a small breakthrough but ultimately still not working. Instead of automatically getting IP, gateway and DNS, I manually filled in the details (giving the AX40 a static IP).
I am now able to access the router after restart, but still it has no internet. I thought it might be a DNS issue, but I tried everything. I tried setting the Bell Router IP, 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 but I am unable to get internet acesss when the AX40 is in AP mode. It doesnt make any sense because clearly the cable I am plugging in has internet access...
