Remote Management
Can I access my GS808E Nighthawk S8000 Gaming & Streaming Switch remotely, outside of the network? I want to access the switch while traveling without logging into router..

Re: Remote Management
Hi Rabbit_hole,
Welcome to our community!
As per my understanding that you wanted to access the switch Web GUI without logging in to the router. Is that correct? It would be possible if you will be able to set a port forwarding to your router and it points the port to your Nighthawk switch. But if you wanted to access the devices connected to the switch, it would be the same thing, by opening the port of RDP in your router.

Re: Remote Management
Thank you for the response. I currently use port forwarding and RDP. What port # is assigned to this switch? I couldn't find anything related to remote port(s) used by this switch. I would assume port 80 or 8080 but that didn't work.

Re: Remote Management
I believe the web gui is using https protocol. So you may try to use port 443 on that.

Re: Remote Management
To my knowledge, the Nighthawk Switch can be managed by http only, on port 80/TCP.
Considering plain text http insecure, considering the fact that most network devices have not much security on top towards intrusion prevention, I would stay far away from exposing the Switch to the wild Internet.
As the OP has RDP in place, I would use that local reachable Windows system Web browser to manage the Nighthawk Switch. The NETGEAR SWitch DIscovery Tool can help to find the IP address in case it's fully dynamic.
