5G Authentication error occurred.
Hi. I just purchased Nighthawk AC1900 WiFi Cable Modem Router model C7000v2. It was working fine until 3 days ago. 5G network stop connecting. I got 2 msgs. 1st "Failed to obtain IP address" & 2nd "Authentication error occurred." - l'm stucked on that 2nd one. 2.4 works just fine. Anyway, called Netgear was on the phone for 5 hrs and was told to buy new one. Called Comcast was told the same. For some reason l don't believe l have to buy a new one or exchange it. When l was renting from Comcast (router/modem) l would get the same msgs at least once/ twice a month. They would reset wifi signal and l was good to go until next time. This Netgear Nighthawk model C7000v2 is brand new. I just think they do not know how to fix it. Any ideas???

Re: 5G Authentication error occurred.
did you try a simple factory reset and reinstall?
Current setup: CM2000-> RBKE963B-> Trendnet TEG-S380-> GS716T-> pi-hole
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
1.4gig download/50mbps upload from Xfinity

Re: 5G Authentication error occurred.
is it only wireless devices with that issue?
Do wired devices work fine?

Re: 5G Authentication error occurred.
both 2.4ghz and 5ghz? And wired?
You're not being very detailed.
What happens when you factory reset?
Are you able to access the gui through the browser?

Re: 5G Authentication error occurred.
Both 2.4ghz and 5ghz don't work including wired connection. 2.4 works just fine on both ends. (WiFi & wired)

After factory reset? Same thing. Do not work. Are you talking about Netgear genie? If yes than yes, l can use it.

this doesn't make much sense. saying 2.4/5ghz and wired doesn't work but then saying 2.4ghz works fine on both ends (wifi/wired). that's not how it works.
Are you able to access the routers gui through the browser?

If its new, I'd return/exchange it.
