Re: 7800 Client Mode?
You already have your own router/wifi in the apartment? you just want the r7800 to connect to it so you can hardwire a pc into the r7800?
Is that correct?

Re: 7800 Client Mode?
Be aware, if you have WPA2 and WPA3 mixed modes enabled on the host router, the R7800 won't connect in wireless bridge mode. The Host will need to use WPA2 only.

Is it possible to setup my R7800 as a client? I used to have my own connection through Sparklight I originally bought it for a couple years ago. Unfortunately now I'm in an appartment & trying to avoid buying a wifi card to get my gaming rig online.

What modem do you have? the R7800 is a router only device.

Re: 7800 Client Mode?
Are you setting up the R7800 for Dynamic or static IP addressing when configuring the Bridge mode settings?
How is the modems wifi configured? SSID name, CHANNELS and WPA mode?

Unfortunately it wont, settings attempt to apply but then the page refreshes & says unable to connect. From that point forward I can't log into my modem at all. Acts as if it's bricked, have to use that tiny pin reset button on back to reset the modem to factory defaults.

Re: 7800 Client Mode?
That should work.
Look at the R7800s Advanced tab page to see the status of the connection...

Re: 7800 Client Mode?
If you set a static IP while in the same range on the R7800 for bridge mode as the host routers IP address pool range, you can access the R7800 while in bridge mode using the IP address you input for static IP. I used 192.168.#.78.

Re: 7800 Client Mode?
Just use there routers IP address for DNS or you can use any DNS on the R7800 side while in bridge mode.
You'll need to ask the landlord to take a look at the routers IP address pool size on that unit 192168.1.2 thru .254 maybe seen. Might ask if they can make this 192.168.1.100 to .250. Then you could set a static on the R7800 for 192.168.1.78.
