I was having connection problems with my router so after trying everything else I decided to reset my router. Now it is saying the QR code is invalid and I can’t set it up using Nighthawk or ethernet. Any suggestions?

  • The ethernet is not connecting to the default web address and is also saying it’s an unknown PUBLIC network.

Not much of this makes sense.

What are you doing and where does it go wrong?

What is this " default web address"?

What "connection problems" where you having with your modem/router?

Is this a Windows PC? Have you turned on "network discovery"?

Try running the Network Troubleshooter in Windows.

      Start here:

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

      Cable Modems & Routers

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

      Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
