Can anyone verify if the model R5700 router requires a crossover cable for the "Internet" port?
I'm trying to remotely assist a relative troubleshoot their new router. The router's "Internet" port shows not connected both in the Web management console and via LED #2 on the front of the device.
They don't know if the cable they are trying to use is the orginal one that came in the box? (It's a straight-cable cable that works in other applications.)
I'm not familiar with Netgear routers, but most consumer device no longer require cross-over cables for uplinks.
Could someone verify the type of cable included in box?
Also, if someone could also verify that a straigh-through cable works for this connection?
