Cannot connect after newest firmware update for Microsoft Surface Pro 3

Thanks a bunch, I went through all the processes of "Factory Reset" and that certainly didn't help. I took your advice and instructions on reverting back to 1.0.4.28 and it worked like a charm!
I now connect my Surface tablet automatically at a distance of 50 feet or so through 3 walls out on my deck (as far as I've ventured so far) no problemo!
With the latest firmware I had to be sitting next to the router. The latest firmware really is baaad!

I went to http://downloadcenter.netgear.com/ searched for R7000
and downloaded my previous version firmware which was:
1.0.4.28
and from my router menu installed this one.

Yes, I agree the latest firmware is crap.
Netgear should take a note of this.
People are not going to do a factory reset and type in their settings - that is bull !!
I have plenty of settings on my router if I do it manually that'll take good 4 to 5 hrs.
Guess what I have job and a family.
