Change WiFi Channels on a Netgear R7000
Hello,
I am looking to change WiFi channels on a Netgear R7000. The device is in AP mode not router mode. I have the AP connected to a switch which in turn connects to my Sonicwall that is setup as the DHCP server and gives out IP addresses. All is working, but some users get knocked off sometimes. I do have other Netgear R7000's that are close and act as AP's also. I ran Netspot Discovery and noticed 5G is using channel 153. My other Netgear AP's are also using channel 153. I do have the Netgear app on my phone. I did go to settings, but do not see how to change channels from the app. I was thinking to connect a laptop to the back of the AP and set my laptop to a 192.168.1.x IP and see if I can connect to the default 192.168.1.1 on the netgear AP? Thanks for all of your input on this.

You'll need to find the IP address of the R7000 in AP mode on the host routers connected devices table. Use that IP address to log in to the R7000 in AP mode and change the channels under Basic Tab/Wireless settings.

That isn't the IP address in AP mode. Unless you give it a fixed IP address, it uses whatever the router gives it.
Login to whatever your router is, you don't say, look at its list of attached devices for the IP address of your R7000 and access that in a browser.
A useful tool for this is the Netgear PC genie:
genie | Product | Support | NETGEAR
It creates a network map that, if you are lucky, will provide a clickable link to your APs.
