DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN and Netgear Armor not activating (code: ARM-PYMT-EXP)

I keep getting DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN for about 2 months and I subscribed to the Netgear Armor about a week ago and it keeps giving me the error code: ARM-PYMT-EXP. So I have 2 seperate problems that I am dealing with.

I have contacted Netgear and Bitdefender support over the phone and also have chatted online with them and they created multiple tickets but so far nothing. I have fully reset the router from the back multiple times, I deleted Nighthawk app on my iPhone and installed it again multiple times and nothing has fixed the problem. When I contacted Bitdefender customer service at first they said they will look into it but after a few days, they sent an email saying you purchased it from Netgear and you have to contract them directly and there is nothing they can do about it. It's very disappointing from 2 big companies, nobody can fix this stupid annoying glitches. I have the latest router firmware update installed. version V1.0.4.76. My DNS probelm started when I installed router firmware update V1.0.4.74. about 2 months ago. The update broke the DNS within the router so you will get page not found error when you trying to go to any website and you have to keep refreshing the page until it goes to the site and whn you go to a different webite, same thing, over nad over. I am using my Nighthawk R80000 router from March 2018. For the DNS error if you change it from the automatic settings to Primary DNS 8.8.8.8 and Secondary DNS 8.8.4.4 wont make a diffrence. Some poeple said it will fix it but it doesn't.

NETGEAR PLEASE fix these 2 glitches, they are very annoying and causing a lot of problems within my network devices. Thank you and I hope these 2 errors gets fixed soon. Nighthawk R8000 router desperately needs a firmware update to fix the DNS and Netgear Armor activation problems.

  • I have been having the same DNS issues with the latest firmware. My suggestion to you would be to upgrade to a firmware before the problem started to happen.

I'm currently running firmware V1.0.4.28_10.1.54 which is quite older but the one before Armor was released that gives me much better performance without bugs of the newer firmwares.

When you say "For the DNS error if you change it from the automatic settings to Primary DNS 8.8.8.8 and Secondary DNS 8.8.4.4 wont make a diffrence. Some poeple said it will fix it but it doesn't. "

Do you mean you changed the DNS settings inside the router to 8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4?. This will not fix the problem. Reason why is the devices connected will still get a primary DNS with an IP that is of your router.

The only way the DNS change works if you change it on each device connected to the router. I'm currently testing on my second r8000 that has the latest firmware. Wih my firefox using cloudflare dns, there are no dns issues. If I use DNS provided by router, DNS issue occurs.

I really don't think you will find a fix until they provide a new firmware update and the only thing you can do is bypass router DNS. If you find one let me know because I've tested a lot of different settings and options with multiple factory resets and I couldn't find one.
