Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection - TURNED ITSELF ON
I was experiencing weird issues with some sites working, and some not.
I am POSITIVE I unchecked the box "Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection" yesterday. Today, during this weird potential DOS attack, this setting in my router was checked again. BY ITSELF. Allowing this potential DOS attack to happen. I was able to access sites such as Google and youtube, but my DNS provider 1.1.1.1 and cloudflarestatus.com, along with pro.godaddy.com would not resolve. One minute they were working, the next, chrome says connection could not be established.
I am worried there is some hacker that turned this back on, to disable this port scan and DOS protection.
Is there ANY known vulnerabilities or bugs with this feature turning itself on by itself? Or am I crazy?

Re: Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection - TURNED ITSELF ON
Be sure you are actually disabling or enableing features then selecting the Apply button to actually apply the change.
Try a different web browser to apply the change.
Try a factory reset and setup from scratch.
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Cable Modem products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with Cable modems (C and CM series) products. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
