I finally got a chance to take the network down for a while and was able do a factory reset of the AC1900 R7000. I updated the firmware to 1.0.11.136_10.2.120 from a computer connected to the router via ethernet. So far everything is working. I will post if problems develop.

Re: Firmware 1.0.9.88 R7000 shows duplicate devices
Probabably an incompatibility with the NH app and use of older FW.

I also downloaded a new update for the app but still seeing the same situation. Logged in and out of the app, rebooted the router.... same.

The auto-update process for the r7000 has never worked that great.
You can manually update through. I'd recommend doing it through a hardwired connection for best results.

Re: Firmware 1.0.9.88 R7000 shows duplicate devices
I recently updated my R7000 AC1900 firmware from V1.0.9.64_10.2.88 to V1.0.11.134_10.2.119. It worked for two days and then the wifi connected devices would no longer communicate with each other. The devices were all on the primary network not the guest network. The wifi speed did not make a difference. Also found the router browser interface would not work correctly sometimes. After combing the internet for hours I gave up and I went back to V1.0.9.64_10.2.88. Everything is working well now but I really would like to keep up with the latest firmware. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Firmware 1.0.9.88 R7000 shows duplicate devices
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Is Smart Connect enabled?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 or 149 to 161 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many

Re: Firmware 1.0.9.88 R7000 shows duplicate devices
FURRYe38 thank you for your response.
A factory reset and setup from scratch has NOT been performed since last FW update. If a factory reset is performed can the router settings be saved before the FW update and then restored after the factory reset?
The internet service provider is Verizon FIOS. The ethernet cable goes from the R7000 into an ethernet port mounted on the wall which I assume is connected to the ONT outside.
Smart Connect IS enabled.
Channels are Auto (2.4Ghz) and 153(5Ghz).
There are twelve other wifi access points in the area.

Yes, you can save a back up to file then reset. I recommend trying a fresh setup from scratch first to see if the problem appears before loading the backup config from file.

Re: Firmware 1.0.9.88 R7000 shows duplicate devices
I will try a fresh setup from scratch first. It may be a while as I need to do the update when the network can be taken down. I will post the results.

Any progress on this?

After downloading this firmw5 version I noticed the on the nighthawk app in device manager that there seems to be a lot more devices connected then there actually is. For example I only have my tv connected to the Ethernet port but it shows it connected to the 5ghz Network and it's showing 22 other devices connected to the wired ports.

Re: Firmware 1.0.9.88 R7000 shows duplicate devices
Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

There is new FW available for the R7000:
• Introducing NETGEAR WiFi 7 Orbi 770 Series and Nighthawk RS300
• What is the difference between WiFi 6 and WiFi 7?
• Yes! WiFi 7 is backwards compatible with other Wifi devices? Learn more
