Tried the latest firmware update from the app. The power light now flashes white indicating the firmware is corrupted.
I have tried following the directions from the NETGEAR support community on how to “reinstall the firmware on a router without the setup CD recovery tool.” However, this has not been successful. Any other ideas/advice appreciated!

Besides that one, there are 2 other KB articles you can look at and try:
https://kb.netgear.com/000059633/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-TFTP-client
https://kb.netgear.com/000059634/How-to-upload-firmware-to-a-NETGEAR-router-using-Windows-TFTP
Those don't work for you, search this forum for TFTP... many did have problems doing this, but it worked for many too. Check the 'solved' threads, might give you something to try.
