My old router is beyond repair and I picked up the Netgear R7000. I've been looking for some help on setting up the router to work well with my chromecast, 2 android phones, 1 android tablet, wii u, 2 laptops, and 1 wired pc. The chromecast video quality hasn't been up to par recently and I can't figure out what settings to change that would improve it.

1. what band are you connecting the chromecast to? 2.4ghz is a much slower band and sensitive to interference. 5ghz is significantly faster for streaming.
2. what modem is the r7000 connected to?
3. what firmware is on the r7000?
personally, if you just bought the r7000, i'd return it and buy something a little newer. The r7000 was the flagship router back in 2013. So its getting a bit older and its last generation tech. Not saying it won't work or that its not a solid router, its just a 9 year old device.
