Help to get the most out of my Netgear Nighthawk.

Question

My old router is beyond repair and I picked up the Netgear R7000. I've been looking for some help on setting up the router to work well with my chromecast, 2 android phones, 1 android tablet, wii u, 2 laptops, and 1 wired pc. The chromecast video quality hasn't been up to par recently and I can't figure out what settings to change that would improve it.

Is it connected to the 5ghz?
How far from the router is it?&nbsp;
What materials are between the router and the chromecast? (certain materials block wifi)
Have you tried changing 5ghz channels?
