How do I change a device name on my network? R8000
It looks like I should be able to change the device name to something meaningful for devices that are not named by the router. In Netgear Genie, I can change the names but they don't stick. Using N...

Then I deleted the existing name and entered a name using the following rules (not sure if these are necessary but it works when I follow them)Only use upper and lower case letters and the dash (-). No spaces. (Not sure. I was able to use spaces with Genie.)
I hope this helps anyone else who wants to rename the devices.
You may have hit upon the issue. The names you pick seem to be important.
Maybe doing it on the desktop app also differs from what the mobile app accepts, just to make like interesting.
