How to block JUST outgoing traffic from device?
The device manager allows me to block all traffic on a device. I want to just disable all outgoing traffic, not incoming traffic. Where is the option for this? Thanks.

I have a device that automatically sends info to a server. I want to continue to get updates to the device (incoming traffic) but prevent it from sending out data (outgoing traffic). I want to do this all with the router.
I don't know how to block outgoing traffic only. I read the manual.

Thanks for the details.

Read the previous post again? Start at "Look for".

I did. I searched "Block a
Service or Application From Accessing the Internet" which yielded zero results.
I also looked up how to block services but I am not sure if the manual is referring to blocking total access or just outgoing. All I want is to simply block all outgoing traffic via the device without blocking any inbound traffic. I don't know how to do this, and I'm not sure where that is in the manual. It shows how to block traffic via the meter, but it blocks both incoming and outgoing traffic.- microchip8Mar 09, 2021Master
You cannot block outgoing traffic while passing through incoming one. As I mentioned, this is not supported by the firmware. You either block everything or pass everything

It's not complicated.> [...] I am not sure if the manual is referring to blocking total

answer the question (and even if it does), then I'd run the experiment.> [...] You either block everything or pass everything
Define "everything". As I read the User Manual, you get to choose
the ports affected. What if incoming and outgoing use different ports? It's not as if anyone here knows what this "a device" actually does.
