Re: How to enter in Failsafe mode on a Nighthawk?
you can try using tftp or nmrpflash.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide

just make sure you enable tftp
https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-tftp-windows-10
and here's a video walk through.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9DLrLQrpaw
and if that doesn't work, you can try using nmrpflash

Not sure exactly what you think "failsafe" mode is.
did you try the tftp or nmrpflash? They're designed to reinstall a firmware in case of bricked devices, corrupt firmware, etc.
Failsafe *usually* implies backup firmware on a device that it can revert to. Netgear consumer routers don't have this.

Like @plemans I have no idea what you mean by that.
It isn't a term I have seen in some years hanging around here.
As @plemans says, the usual escape route is TFTP. Any reason why you rejected that advice?
There is more severe, recovery reset, that you could try:
- Press reset for 30 seconds
- Keep pressing reset while removing power
- Keep pressing reset for another 30 seconds while apply power
If it works, you may be able to use the usual method to flash the firmware again.
Download the latest firmware for your device – or an older version if that is what you want – and read the Release Notes for how to install it.
If that fails, you are into TFTP country.
