How to monitor incoming internet data (R8000)

I want advice on monitoring the internet data that is incoming to my NightHawk router. I've read a few articles but can seem to find in my setting how to apply the suggestions.  Can someone please give me some advice?  My internet provider is way over stating the amount of data I am actually using and I need some data points to prove this.

Thank you.

Certainly! Monitoring your internet data usage is a good way to keep track of your usage and address any discrepancies. To monitor with incoming data on your NightHawk router, you can follow these general steps:

  1. Access Router Settings: Open a web browser and enter your router's IP address in the address bar. Usually, it's something like "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.0.1." You might need to enter your router's username and password to log in.

  2. Navigate to Traffic Statistics: Look for a section or tab related to "Traffic," "Bandwidth," or "Data Usage." This is where you can find information about your data consumption.

Netgear devices are generally poor at measuring data use.

Manuals are always a good place to start.

Visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Check the section in the manual Monitor Internet Traffic.

Be warned that some users find that this strains the processing power of the router and slow it down.

PS The other answer is link spam (reported).
