Indicator Lights,
R6700v3
In the past have always seen active white lights on the front of the router. Had a power outage today and now the lights are not really visible until you are standing over the unit. Connection to internet and wifi seem to be working properly. Really odd. Should I not worry about it. Or should I plan on buying a backup router?

If it works, it is down to you how bothered you are. This is a four year old design, so neither ancient nor modern.
One thing you could do would be to check the power adapter. That is the sort of thing that fails after a power cut, especially of it was due to a thunderstorm. Many adapters have the same output, so you may have a spare adapter lying around.
