Model AC1900 Router has security questions wrong - how can I access to change password?

I think my router password has been compromised. I followed the steps to change the password until I got to the security questions. I answered both questions correctly but the router apparently did not save the correct answers so I cannot get past that step. Do I need to restore factory settings and begin again with a new password?
