My HP Envy 15t can't connect wirelessly with my Nighthawk R8000

My HP Envy 15t isn't connecting wirelessly with my Nighthawk R8000. I started with HP and have tested my WIFI card adapter (it works) and I've done everything HP threw at me including backing up my laptop and doing a clean install. It still gives me the following message "No internet, secured". Early in the process of troubleshooting, I did see something hinting at the possibility that the current driver for the Nighthawk and my laptop WIFI adapter are not compatible. Is anyone aware of an issue like this? Does it require installing a differnet WIFI adapter?
Thank you in advance!

This tells us that the problem is limited to the wifi bit of your HP. So, not really that weird, and not much, if anything, to do with your wifi Netgear device.
Does the HP work on other wifi?
One guess is that you need to tell Windows that you are on a "private network".
- Network and Internet settings
- Network Status
- Change Connection Properties
- Network Profile
- Private
Again, nothing to do with the R8000.

Bit hard to unravel what is going on in there. Are you having problems getting a laptop to connect to the wifi?

Where do you see this message? What are you doing when it appears?
Can other things connect to the wifi?

@michaelkenward If I disconnect the ethernet cable and try to connect to the WIFI router, it says connected but "No internet, secured". I also have to hit the disconnect button. Everything else connected to the router is fine and not having issues. TV, tablets, phones, game system, guest's phones, printer etc. The HP Envy 15t can connect through a hotspot. It's a weird one.
