Currently my internet provider is Charter spectrum. I have a 350 meg internet plan. With my brand new motorala Modem
MOTOROLA 16x4 Cable Modem, White Model MB7420, 686 Mbps DOCSIS 3.0

Manufactured by xidax. Amd 3750x Processsor 32gigs ddr4 ram, 1080ti. Motherboard is a x370 killer sli. So any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

What firmware is on the R8000?
was the R8000 a new device? or prior setup?
I'd start by factory resetting and re-installing manually. many times prior qos/traffic monitoring settings can cause issues.

Re: My internet speeds cut from nearly half a gig to a fraction of the speed.
Thank you so much. Sometimes the simplest solutions fix everything. I did the reset. Had the nighthawk recheck the internet settings. rebooted my pc. and now I am getting 480 megs direct from the nighthawk. A new record. Thanks so much!
