Netgear R7000 NOT working with a new ISP router

Hi there,

I have a Netgear R7000. It was working fine until I changed my internet service provider. I received a new router from the new ISP and plugged everything back in same as before. There is no change in speed and the wires are all working.

Unforunately now I cannot connect to my Netgear R7000 at all. I have tried a factory reset but I cannot set up my R7000 unless I can connect to it, which I can't.

Additionally I also now have an ORANGE LED Light showing on the R7000 for LAN Ethernet port 1 which is connected to my TV.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks for your assistance!!

Re: Netgear R7000 NOT working with a new ISP router

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and router been performed since last update?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
Turn off and unplug modem.
Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

Try option #2 first...

You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being configured correctly.

Orange light means 10 or 100 Mbps connection instead of 1 Gbps. Most TVs come with a 100 Mbps chip.
