Netgear R9000 nighthawk x10 internet appears offline when there’s connection
I just recently got the router. Heard it was one of the best. When I downloaded the nighthawk app, next to the image it says “internet: offline.” I tried restarting the router and the modem. Checked i...
- Jul 10, 2020I accidentally figured it out. I thought AP mode is the best, which wasn’t in my case, so I swapped back to router mode. I just went on https://www.routerlogin.com to do all of that but you have to connect an ethernet cable to from your router and to a computer. What modem are you using?
What firmware version are you on?
- TheteedubyaJul 10, 2020AspirantI just upgraded to v 1.0.5.18 and have the same problem. I have ATT 1000Gb and ARRIS BGW210-700 modem. Never had this before. Everything seems to be working fine, and throughput is screaming, yet the app says “INTERNET: Offline.” Not sure what else I can test to detect a problem. Possibly missing a setting for Bridging? Is this just a classic NETGEAR firmware bug?
- TheteedubyaJul 14, 2020AspirantIn case anyone has this problem, I reset the modem and r9000 to factory settings, upgraded the firmware again, and set the “bridge mode” settings again on both devices, and it works fine now. Seems to have improved performance by a consistent 10% as well, which could be due to other factors. The moral is a clean factory reset is a good place to start troubleshooting.

As always, an actual version number would be more useful than your
opinion of what's "upgraded" today.> [...] set the "bridge mode" settings again on both devices, [...]
"bridge mode" on the R9000? Or "AP mode", or what, exactly?
