Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

I have tried upgrading once again Factory reset, pushed firmware, and again my 5Ghz went down. Reverted back to the trusted 1.09.42 and everything works just fine. Figured I would try again, and once again after the router rebooted etc, my 5Ghz was shot again no matter what channel I used. Reverted back again to 1.09.42 and everything worked just fine. I guess God just doesn't want me to go to a newer firmware lol

Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

IF this is happening on different FW versions then there seems to be a HW issue rather then FW. I did not see any issues with my R7000 when I had it online using this version of FW. Ran fine for me and no 5Ghz issues. Maybe time for new HW or turn OFF the wifi radios on the R7000 and add on a wireless AP for wifi.

Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

I would think that too, but there are a lot of people like me on the forums with the same issue. And I find it odd that I can go to 9.42 and have virtually 0 problems. And I have little to no problems on firmware prior to 9.42. Check out the problems when 9.88 came out. I remember it vividly at the time because it killed my 5Ghz band. Ended up dropping back down to 9.34 for 2 years (until now) and when this firmware did the same thing, I went back down to 9.42.

Ran mine with the following settings and didn't see any 5Ghz issues with v.134 FW loaded.

Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

I updated to the new firmware 1.0.11.134 and it worked fine for me.  No stalling or disconnection.

Speed seem to be faster for 5ghz band.  Ran a speed test and I am getting an average 340+ mbps DL and 200+mbps.  that's with my IPS 1gbps speed fiber.

Using Cat6a ethernet cable and I am getting consistent 940+ mbps DL and 900+ mbps UL.

I am missing out on the speed from using wifi.

I'm good so far.  been running on this for about a week now.

Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

Depending up on what wifi devices your using, 5Ghz AC usually maxes out at around 300-500Mpbs for most 2x2 MIMO supporting wifi devices. You not see anything near 900Mpbs wifi speeds on this router. Nature of the beast.

Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

Thanks. That makes sense.  I'll stick to Cat6a ethernet for now for my gaming and other things

That's the only way to fly. I do same for any gaming. Most reliable and best performing for gaming.

Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

Sadly I have the same experience.
Factory reset -> upgrade -> factory reset then setting upp all ports and devices manually again.

5GHz dropping all the time and throttle down to kbps speeds .. 2.4GHz is more stable but still goes down as well on several devices. Can't work from home as it is now.

I set Language to English, when logging in next time suddenly it's changed to Swedish.

Update definitely made the router unusable for me

Do you have smart connect enabled or disabled?

What channels are you using?

How do you have the Advanced Wireless settings configured?

Beamforming, MIMO and 40Mhz only enabled?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

What region are you located?

Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

Exactly the same for me. gave it 24 hours but it's so miserable, so I too dropped back to 9.34

It's been long enough, I don't want to risk security, so I will be buying another brand and recycling this one by ripping it apart and recycling non-electronic stuff, while board and chips, etc, will go into our community hazmat. My old Linksys WRT54G running DDWRT I use out in a barn is better than this junk.

Have this loaded on my R7000 and ran well for the full week I had it online as main host router:

https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/New-R7000-Firmware-Version-1-0-11-134-Releas...

Seeing no issues with 5ghz. Manual channel 1 and 48 or 149. Smart Connect and WMM enabled. QoS disabled. 40Mhz only.

Have you tried manually updating FW as mentioned in the first post?

Yes,I manually  updated FW from 126 to 134, I never use automatically update. Then I reset to factory settings several times by click erase or push reset button, and then recheck FW update.

If your at v.134 now then you'll be current then.

Well, so, GUI languages lag behind FW, I will wait.

Another problem, when ARP protection/IP MAC Binding (ADVANCED->Security) turned on, there is no connection, and I cannot log into router, I have to push reset button . This problem keeps existing from 1.0.9.88, and never be solved.

BTW,

bug 1, CPU Load only shows "%".

bug 2, After changing language from up right corner, BASIC page and ADVANCED page show in one page split apart horizontally.

Re: New - R7000 Firmware Version 1.0.11.134 Released

@catik

Regarding to Your question about language firmware version:

The last big change in the functionality of the firmware for R7000 router was in version 1.0.9.88. Then next versions fixes security vulnerabilities (I based on change log in version description).
Language firmware is updated automatically from Internet after upgrade router firmware. Based on info in file: https://http.fw.updates1.netgear.com/r7000/ww/fileinfo.txt (this location is inside router firmware).

Last version of language firmware is R7000-V1.0.11.120_2.1.38.1

I haven't checked it, but everyone who has firmware version 1.0.9.88 or higher will have V1.0.11.120_2.1.38.1 language firmware version.

What browser are you using?

GUI an FW may not be all updated at the same time. No idea IF or WHEN GUI will be updated. Up to you though to update FW.
