This is the only setting that should be set if your going to use IPv6 for the DNS work around:

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I am using the IPv6 page not as a workaround but to access a ipv6 tunnel to give me IPv6 access. my stupid ISP only gives ipv6 access to it's business customers, and even then only for an additional fee. so to access ipv6 content i need a IPv6 tunnel from Hurricane electric

This is my R7960P loaded with v.94 and how I had IPv6 6to4 Auto and Custom DNS configured:
I believe I did this on Mac with Safari browser

I had to select DHCP server instead of Auto Config at the bottom and IPV6 6to4 tunnel started working on my R8000p! 👍🏻

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
Well, The Point May be Mute Now. Over The Last 12 hours My R8000p has Suddenly Started Acting Really Flaky - that Is, Even More Flaky Than It Has Been Because Of The Firmware. I Believe The Router Keeps Crashing. The Wireless Signal Is Still Present, But Any Devices That Are Not Connected At Time Of 'Crash' Can Not Connect. Any Devices That Are Connected, if They Disconnect, They Can Not Reconnect To The Network. Also Accessing The Router Page Using Router login.Net Or 192.168.1.1 fails. I Also Noticed The External Drive I Have Connected To The Router Also Is Disconnected From The Network during This. Rebooting The Router Only Solved The Issue For About A Minute Or Two. I Did Perform A Factory Reset, Which I Had Hoped Would Fix The Issue, But It Did Not. So, I Have Too Keep Going Back To Where The Router Is And Perform A Power Cycle Every 15 - 30 minutes, Sometimes Sooner. I Have Ordered A New Router, An RAXE500, Which Should Be Hear Sometime Before Noon Tomorrow. (Guess The Amazon.Com Warehouse By Where I Live had It In Stock Already? )
On The Bright Side, With The New Router When My ISP Gets Fiber Internet Out To Where I Live I Will Be Able To Handle It. And When Will That Be You Ask? The ISP Refuses To Say If Or When That Will Be. So I Have My Own Answer:
When Hell Freezes Over.
When Pigs Fly.
When Flying Monkeys Crawl Out Of [Insert Name Here]'s Butt.
You Get The Idea...

Just wondering if your router has been faulty all along.
The RAXE500 will be way better.
I highly recommend putting a laptop fan cooler under it for 24/7 cooling. I keep on under mine all the time.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I had been putting up with the .36 firmware for a long time now. I only started looking at upgrading the firmware after DNS stopped working repeatedly all of a sudden. I got the R8000P back in.... somewhere between 2015 and 2017 - i think. My dad died in 2019, and we had already been using the router for quite some time. anyways, It's possible that the router was failing. but before this, firmware issues aside, it had always been a rock solid router in terms of how it performed and functioned. I will miss having the two 5Ghz radios that the R8000P had. My new RAXE500 showed up about 45 minutes ago, and is already hooked up. I am glad amazon got it here so quickly (it was ordered last night), because i was about ready to dig out my old netgear WNDR4500(V1) and use that too limp along. I will be the first to admit that a router like the R8000P or the RAXE500 is more than over kill for my slow internet connection. in all honesty, I could probably get away with using a wireless A or B router since my internet is only 10Mbps.

Hi @222Graham222 , are you still experiencing the issue? If yes, may we know if you've tried resetting the device to factory settings and reconfiguring the address reservation without restoring a config file?

Hi @RalfyM, if you're still experiencing the issues, you may try resetting the device back to factory defaults and setting it up from scratch. Let us know if the issue will persist.

Really don't fancy factory resetting as it takes hours to get back to a previous working state even with restoring saved config. Back on old firmware now. I'll see what happens if and when another new firmware arrives.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
The Jokes Is On Me, It Looks Like. While My R8000P *MAY* or *MAY NOT* Have Been Failing, (not To Mention New And Longstanding Bugs With The Firmware) my Modem Appears To Be Having Issues Now As Well. The Transient DNS_BAD_CONFIG Message when Browsing In Edge, Continued With The New RAXE500 router. During The Most Recent Occurrence The Raxe500 Stated No Internet, And Following A Page 5efresh the Router Page Said There Was Nothing Hooked Up To The Ethernet Port. Naturally I Went Back And Checked, Just In Case The Cat Had "Accidentally " Knocked Off The Router Or Something, But Nothing Was Ammiss. A Check 0f the (Brand New) Cables Confirmed They We're Solidly Locked Into Place, and Both Internet Signal Lights Internet The Modem We're Solidly Lit, Indicating A Internet Signal. From Both To Of The Bonded 5mbps lines. And As Has Been The Usual For The Past Three Or So Weeks, This Issue Disappeared Once Again, Before Any Further Troubleshooting Steps Could Be Taken. The Router Started Receiving It's Ip, And Dns Address From The Modem Again As Well. At This Point, I Called Phone Company (WhO Is Also My Isp) And Told Them What Was Up. They Ran Some Tests (I Don't Know What Ones Exactly) And Told Me That The Mode M Was Not Responding To Their Remote Access Commands,. After Several Resets And Several More Attempts, They Told Me They We're Still Unable To AAccess My Modem, But We're Seeing Errors Logged For My Line. They Said " I Am SeeIng An Error Saying Your Port Collapsed Yesterday At X:xx Pm. And Again Today At XX:xx Pm". I Don't Know How They Could Tell, Cif They Could Not Access My Modem Remotely, But Then They Probably Have Access To Network Equipment And Software That Is Never Even Thought About By The Common 9nternet user. Any Ways, That Was Yesterday Evening. They Called Me Back This Morning Saying They Would Be Out Here Sometime Between 8am and 11am. At Least They Are Pretty Good At Keeping Their Appointments. So If They Say They are Going To Show Up, THEN THEY ARE GOING TO SHOW UP.
Even If The R8000p is Still Solid Hardware Wise, I Think I Will Retire It. It Was A Pretty Good Modem That Was Ruined By Netgear's Buggy Firmware Updates.
P. S,. Sorry About The Caps For Each Word. Someone Messed With My Tablet, And The Keyboard Is Acting Wonky Now, Like Capitalizing The First Letter OF Every Word.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
Hi,
I am extremely disappointed with NetGear.
I bought expensive equipment and every firmware update that is released is worse than the last one.
What brand is this?

I would keep the v.68 loaded for now. Users have already posted that there are problems with v.94 so keep v.68 for now. I've already passed this onto NG.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I upgraded to 1.4.4.97 from 1.4.3.88 - it lasted 2 days, then I went back to 1.4.3.88. For me I found 2 things broken:
1) Under ADDRESS RESERVATION, unable to add/edit a devices because it kept saying "BAD MAC ADDRESS". There was no way to add/edit anything.
2) Under ATTACHED DEVICES, the CONNECTION TYPE information is mostly missing, just shows "-". For some devices it would display 2.4G Wireless, but not all.
I have a R7960P.

Re: New - R7900P/R7960P/R8000P Firmware Version 1.4.4.94 Released
I have the Nighthawk R7960P with V1.4.4.94_1.3.56 and has been working pretty good. I have lots of devices attached to it about 40-50. I usually add them to the LAN Setup and assign an IP address to avoid conflicts. Lately it does not let me add new devices with the error message "Invalid MAC address. 2CAA8E6B596A". This message is displayed for existing devices I want to rename or new devices I want to add. Thinking that it might have run out of space. I removed two old entries. With no luck. Using the App at least it lets me rename devices, but the app does not have LAN Setup menu (or I don't know how to get it).
