Nighthawk R7960P - Have been having the same DNS probe errors as everyone else for a long time. Family fed up with it. Reverted, factory reset, reinstalled new FW, same thing. Tried several times, lots of factory resets. Software is flaky to begin with. No matter what, the new FW shows the issue. V1.4.1.68 works fine for now... This is now almost 2 years old. Did not feel good about local DNS PC workaround since I don't know which of my other dozens of devices may be seeing issues as well.

I had the same issue. V88 of firmware didn't fix. I got around it by setting the DNS on each machine individually. That slowed things a bit but worked. I just finished testing the enable IPV6 solution. Not sure why, but that seems to work great. Faster than setting individual workstation DNS adresses, and no probe errors in over 50 rapid consecutive tries. So now I am on the latest firmware, and DNS resolution is working!
