Nighthawk X4S R7800 Drops 5G Wireless Daily
My router drops the 5G wireless signal daily. There is no pattern; the 5G network just disappears from all wireless devices. The home has a wide variety of wireless devices in age, OS and proximity to the router. The 5G network simply disappears from the list of available networks. It will not reappear as an available network until the router is rebooted. The 2G wireless network stays available and working when 5G goes down. This has happened since I bought the router and throughout and up to the most recent firmware update. As a workaround, I recently set up a schedule to turn the 5G off daily (overnight) to see if that helps. It doesn't and I have since deleted that schedule.
Also, when the 5G disappears, the status LED light on the router for 5G is a solid white where the working 2G is a blinking white.
Any ideas other than an external timer to literally power off and on the router overnight?

Re: Nighthawk X4S R7800 Drops 5G Wireless Daily
1. how old is it? You have free support for up to 90 days through netgear and a year warranty if new (longer in some regions)
2. does it start back up if you change the 5ghz channel?
3. did you try factory resetting? or reinstalling the firmware and then factory resetting? If something is corrupt in either the firmware or settings, doing both can clear it out.

Hi plemans.
The router is 2.5 years old. It does not start back up with a channel change. I have tried both reset methods you suggested.
