Nighthawk r7000 Google Assistant

I have my router set to AP mode and have gone though the steps to setup to use GA.  I can say Ok GOogle talk to Netgear and it will show me the available commands but if I try to use one of the commands it tell me that it is offline. 

Is that because it is set up in AP mode? My main router is a pfSense
