I have an Acer Aspire V3-571 running Windows 7 SP1.
Im not able to get anymore than 5mbs download an d some cases much less. Is there something than needs to be upgraded on my laptop? I'm using Firefox as the main brower. I have fibre to the house and all other devices have 30 - 40 mbs downloading. Can someone give me some ideas?

Is it only that device?
Have you tried a usb wireless adapter to see if its the wireless adapter?
How close to the router are you?
are you testing over 2.4ghz or 5gh?
also in AP setup: RAXE500->EAX80
1.4gig download/50mbps upload from Xfinity

Re: R6120 not getting full download speed
Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the Smart Router products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with smart routers and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum. Might be more likely to find someone who has a solution if the question is posted there:
