Re: R6700v3 Firmware update V1.0.4.122_10.0.95 problem

Hi @KwikTripper, if you haven't yet, please try resetting the router back to factory settings and reconfigure it instead of loading an old config file. Let us know how it goes.

Re: R6700v3 Firmware update V1.0.4.122_10.0.95 problem

My router is doing the same thing.  I was in the admin screen, router advised an update was available, and I told it to perform the update.

All my devices can connect to URLs.  My smart tv connects and works fine.  My computers can get to various websites.  BUT, I get "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" when I try to visit https://192.168.1.1 to administer the router again.

Please help!

So what is going on here? Where is Netgear in all this? Is there a fix for this issue or do I need to go purchase another router (NOT NETGEAR)?  The support is horrible and I can't believe they would just abandon their customers like this....

Anyone have an update or heard anything?

What problem are you having? Do you have the R6700?

Re: R6700v3 Firmware update V1.0.4.122_10.0.95 problem

Well, I don't have a R6700v3, but I do have a R6400v2, and I can't access the admin page either after "auto upgrading firmware". When I try to hit it, it takes me to the Netgear site so, I guess, I can get to it through the WAN (not). I didn't go any further with that part. Stinks that I can't manage my router anymore.

A tracert to routerlogin.net resolves to 75.2.84.193 instead of 192.168.1.1, and my IP is 192.168.1.4 locally.

Re: R6700v3 Firmware update V1.0.4.122_10.0.95 problem

After upgrading to firmware V1.0.4.122 on R6400v2, I can no longer manage the switch via the admin console via the url on any web browser. Someone else had a similar issue and I was inquiring as to whether netgear has released a fix for this or not. As of right now my only way to manage the router / switch is through the mobile app on my iPhone.

By "switch" do you mean your R6400v2 router?

Is this with a wired or wifi connection?

What happens when you try to access the browser graphical user interface (GUI)? Any messages?

Where did you read that? Hard to know what their issue was without seeing what they wrote.

It might help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.

Re: R6700v3 Firmware update V1.0.4.122_10.0.95 problem

Yes... The router...

However, I was successfully able to reset to factory and upgrade to v1.0.4.126 and this has fixed the admin gui login issue.  In one of the previous threads it states that this .122 firmware disables or stops listening on port 80 and 443. This seems to be the root of the issue. One thing to note is that if you just have the router (R6400v2) check for firmware update, it will not find a newer one. The .126 version has to be downloaded and uploaded and installed to the router after factory reset. Once you do the factory reset the gui will work for one saved change. So you must update the firmware immediately otherwise you will have to factory reset again.

Thanks everyone for your help and dialogue on this.....
