R6900
My R6900 Router resets the date Sep 8, 2021 every time I power off my modem. I'm setting up this Router as an access point.
I used to be able to run the firmware update and it would correct the date for me. But starting last week, updating the firmware no long corrected my router date. Do you know of a way for the router to not reset my date whenever my power goes out? If not, how do I manually correct the date each time my power goes out?
Thank you so much

Re: R6900
Have you tried simply changing your ntp time server info? That way it potentially syncs on the reboot?

Re: R6900
Hi,
Could you show me how to do that? what is ntp?
I am currently using an xfinity cable modem and I'm setting my netgear as an access point to that I could connect to my Readshare external disk drive.
Thanks so much

Re: R6900
log in through the browser and go to
Advanced tab--->administration----->ntp settings
You can change the time server. maybe yours isn't syncing for some reason.

Re: R6900
Under my Advanced tab --> Admin, I don't see 'NTP settings'.
I only see:
1. 'router status'
2. 'logs' (which showed a default date Sep 2021 - and it's wrong)
3. 'attached devices'
4. 'back up settings'
5. 'router update'
(see screenshot).
I clicked around and failed to find any option for me to change date/time.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks much
