I am a trucker and have bought this model to enable operation of my on board camera system for security reasons. However I also need internet and would like to find out if I can connect my hotspot to this router to achieve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: R6900v2
The R series router requires a ethernet WAN connection from a Modem, DSL, ONT or Cable modem that provides internet services to the router. You'll need to ask the mfr of your hot spot about support for external wifi routers.

Re: R6900v2
What hotspot do you have? That's the key.

Re: R6900v2
I have an inseego mifi 2000 mobile hotspot that is capable of tethering by connecting via usb or using radio and logging onto the hotspot. Details are at inseego.com. Thank you for your help.

Re: R6900v2
The R6900 doesn't have the option to take wan input from a usb teether.
You could always check to see if that hotspot could use a usb---ethernet adapter.
I've actually seen someone use a powered hub so it powered the hot spot and connect the usb--ethernet adapter to that.
then connect the router to that. You'd want the r6900 in ap mode though.
Can't 100% say it'd work because I don't have that hotspot to test and I doubt the documentation would go over that scenario.
