Good news! We now have a production version of firmware that should resolve the 2.4 GHz issue, v1.0.5.64. You may download this firmware from our R7000 page here: http://downloadcenter.netgear.com/en/product/R7000#searchResults
As IrvSp correctly notes, this version of firmware fixes the 2.4 GHz issue and reinstates the new features, such as Kwilt, Smart Connect, and WiFI Transmit Power Control. It does not support Arlo. We hope to have a beta version that supports Arlo in the next two weeks.
We welcome any feedback you provide on this new firmware, and appreciate your patience as we resolved these issues. Thank you all for supporting the R7000 and NETGEAR!

Hi, installed new firmware yesterday and so far only issue is the reach of 5GHz band. I live in a fairly small apartment and with older firmwarfe signal reached all corners, now it does not. Earlier it reached the 12 m to balcony and now i have to be inside.
Has anything changed in the strength of the signal?
I can no longer access router from remote site either and genie for iphone, or mac. Even the webbrowser works very slow when logging on to the router from home, feel like the router has slow respons to genie software (it is upgraded to latest versions too)
Best regards
Lennart

After reversing to older version everything is working again so I will stay away until new bug fixed release shows up
- KillhippieMay 30, 2016ProdigyDid you hard reset the router after updating?

R7000-V1.0.5.64_1.1.88 installed without problems and works so far (without reset since I didn't want to spend the day configuring). Getting close to 600Mbps on our most distant PC in a crowded Wifi space. Thanks.

Hi Nifer !
I'm using a WNDR3700 V2 router, that is showing exactly the same problem as described here : no internet access for 2.4GHz, but working well for the 5GHz.
Any chance for a firmware update ?? Yes,, I know it's a stablized model...Thanks in advance

I wanted to know i have the same problem but this problem is not on my community for my Net600 Western Digital and they won't help me could it be a Firmware problem?

I have already purchased and returned three modem/slash routers motorola and I purchased a TP LINK coming to give it one more try after a long talk with my tech support modem router specialist at comcast to see if it works ? non in my case the 2.4 GHZ works just much much slower then used to
Thank you any help

Is there an equivalent fix anyone can recommend for the R6400? I am having the same problem with the 2.4 band while using the latest firmware. Thanks!

Is there a similar fix for the R6300 V2?

Hi billwright2,
1. What is the firmware version of the router?
2. Have you tried changing the wireless channel?
3. Does the issue persist when using other security mode/s?
4. Are devices working fine on the 5GHz band (for devices that support 5GHz)?
5. Have you tried resetting the router?
