R7000 (AC1900) as Extender/Repeater/AP?
Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me out..
My main router is a Netgear RAX80 (positioned on the main floor of 2-storey home) and it seems as though I have a weak wifi signal upstaris in my home..
So...I came up with this bright idea to why not use my old R7000 as a (I'm not sure which and hope one of you will tell me) Repeater or Extender or an AP?
Can you make a recomendation as to which setup would be best for my situtation?
And if possible provide a link with detailed instructions re:setup process?
*I should mention: Hard wiring between the routers is not possible as they are on seperate floors)*
Thanks in advance!

Re: R7000 (AC1900) as Extender/Repeater/AP?
Access point mode would need them hardwired together somehow.
so you'd probably want to try extender mode. The R7000 will still need a half decent signal to pickup to rebroadcast.
There's instructions on how to setup extender mode here:
